Stars and Stripes

If you already have items in your closet with stars and stripes, you have a ready-made Independence Day outfit. You can also find creative ways to make the two patterns work together. A dress with red, white or blue stripes works well alone or with another solid piece, topped off with star-shaped accessories like earrings or a necklace.

American Mani-Pedi

If you’re having trouble putting together an outfit for the Fourth, the answer could be at your fingertips. Head to the salon and ask for a Fourth of July mani-pedi. There’s no shortage of ideas – as long as your nail artist knows what do with the colors of our flag, your hands and feet with look as all-American as you are.

All-American Makeover

Why stop at your nails when you can make up your face as well? Put on your reddest shade of lipstick, and accent your eyes with white liner and blue mascara. If you’re going to a festival or fun family gathering, you could even use white and blue makeup to draw an American flag on your cheek.

Red Bandanna, White Tee and Blue Jeans

Bruce Springsteen has been pulling off this look for years, and you can do the same. Start with a plain white t-shirt, and then add jeans or denim shorts. Next, add a red bandanna in any style that suits you: around the wrist, stuffed in your back pocket, worn around your head as a headband or even around your neck as a kerchief.

Go All-Star

Some fashions were born in America. One of the most iconic styles is the Converse All-Star sneaker, which has been helping people get around for more than a century. It’s also the perfect shoe for a day at a Fourth of July picnic or a night of fireworks.

Cowboy Style

Cowboy hats and boots might not have been around before America, but you can’t argue with their popularity in the heartland today. Cap off your Fourth of July outfit with a wide-brimmed hat and a pair of mid-calf boots to look like a true patriot from head to toe.
